I just came up with this list now. I know I will add more later! Thanks for reading my bucket list.
Happy 2012! I enjoy writing journals. I'm making an effort to build my self confidence. I think this is a good outlet for me. Writing a blog forces me to look at myself internally as well as externally. I know I am goofy so sometimes I will say silly things. But, I will try to balance it with serious stuff. Sometimes I repeat myself so please forgive me. I will write whatever is on my mind at the time. Stay tuned in to see exciting news about me! Muah!

chakras and the meaning of happiness
Yesterday I was watching the Steve Harvey Project on the centric channel. He made a statement that stuck in my mind, He said that happiness comes within. This is very, very true. I know that is the mistake I've made in the past a 100 times. I always looked for the external things to make me happy but I finally realize that the only person to make me happy is me. If I want to spread happiness and receive it, then happiness has to be on the inside of me. I wrote in an earlier blog about meditation. So, I will focus on that today. The pic that I have at the top with me in three colors represent the chakras that I need to open. I will tell the meaning of each one and indicate the colors which are red, blue and green that I not completely open. Meditating is about spirituality and health. You are becoming one with yourself and God. Opening all of the chakras would bring me great joy. Here are just the seven common chakras. When I started to research chakras and meditation I realize wow I am missing something here. I was thinking no wonder I feel sluggish, down and have physical pain from time to time. Last but not least I should add that you have to have faith and exercise your mind! The chakras I listed here are starting from the top of the head and going down. I've been told when meditating or working on opening the chakras, one should start with the bottom and work their way up. I got this info from threeheartscompany.com. Here they are!

This one is self explanatory and it is one that is pretty opened for
This is located on your forehead and the pituitary and pineal gland. It's not opened completely but working on it
This is self explanatory. I need to express myself more verbally. There's things that I should say to people but because I don't want to hurt their feelings or I'm just shy I keep quiet. A lot of times most people would prefer you say what's on your mind even if it sounds confrontational.
This is self explanatory I haven't opened this one completely.I need to be more compassionate towards people.

This located near the digestive system, stomach, liver, spleen and small intestine. I haven't opened this one completely. Sometimes I get acid reflux. Yucky!
This is located near the large bowel, uterus, testes and ovaries. It's also self explanatory.
This is locates near the ovaries ans testes. This chakra is one that I need to work on. This one is associate with self awareness. It is the area of survival and stability and your place on this earth. I think writing this blog will help me with this one because I will evaluate myself.

ghanaian dish
Today is another day! I feel like posting a recipe. My mate/father of my child is Ghanaian. He has taught me how to cook a few Ghanaian dishes. I thought it would be beneficial to cook Ghanaian food since my son is half Ghanaian. I cooked jeloff rice last night. It was my second time cooking it and it turned out yummy!!! I suggests going to an African or International market to get the ingredients for this meal. But these ingredients can be found at your local grocery store. OK, this is what you need.
1.) 3 tablespoons of canola oil
2.) 2 1/2 cups of white or brown rice (whatever you prefer)
3.) half of chopped onion
4.) 5 large tomatoes
6.) half of large shrimp or tomato and onion flavor maggi cube (looks like chicken cubes and I prefer shrimp flavor)
7.) 2 tablespoons of salt, pepper, garlic salt
8.) 1 teaspoon of paprika
9.) 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
10.) 1 teaspoon of tomato paste
11.) 1 teaspoon of mrs dash table blend (optional).
12.) 3 cups of water
These are the cooking instructions.
1.) chop onions and tomatoes into small to medium size
2.) heat canola oil in sauce pan on medium high for a few minutes until hot
3.) add onions and cook until they become transparent or a little brown
4.) add tomato paste and cook until mixture becomes red and the paste separates
5.) the shrimp maggi cube is hard so chop it to make into powder (I place the cube on counter and with the tip of my handle I hit it..LOL!!!)
6.) stir in tomatoes with maggi cube powder
7.) keep stirring until tomato stew becomes thick
8.) stir in condiments.....use a little or much of the condiments as you like
9.) keep stirring tomato stew for 20 minutes and you will see the oil rise to the top
10.) add water and rice
11.) turn heat down to medium to low
12.) the rice will blend with the tomato stew making the rice a reddish color
13.) continue stirring for 15 minutes
14.) it should be ready after 15 minutes...basically do a lot of tasting...if it's not enough salt please add more because the oil and water consumes the salt.
15.) Enjoy! Serves 4-6

kimberly elise???
Well, I had something on my mind. When I am out in public strangers tell me that I look like the actress Kimberly Elise who played in films Set It Off, John Q and Diary of A Mad Black Woman to name a few. What do you think? For some time I was in denial. I didn't believe it until I looked at her picture on the net. Then I realized, I do look like her somewhat! Then I also thought that I don't know how I look. Like I said before I am dealing with confidence issues. So, I hadn't been pleased with the way I look for a long time. Recently, I came to the conclusion that it's a must for me to love and accept myself for who I truly am. I am learning to love myself. I gained weight since I was pregnant and I haven't been able to take it all off. My weight is up and down. That's what I do not like...ooh!!!!!. I wish I was this big fitness guru. But, I have to find something that works. I don't like going to gyms and lifting weights or jogging outside. I will do yoga since it is something I enjoy. I just need consistency. But, one thing that is positive about this is that I had been compared to an accomplished, beautiful Hollywood actress!!!!

a new day
Hello. Today is the second day of this new year! I am thankful for being alive in 2011 ! I'm listening to Free As A Bird by Dwele. If you were wondering I listen to all type of music. My favorite alternative rock band is Linkin Park. There latest album, A Thousand Suns is okay but it's not their best. Anyway, I'm thinking about posting some of my skills/abilities. Since, I am trying to build my self confidence I need to focus on the things that I can do and not the things that I can not do. It seems we as women do that a lot. We complain about what we do not have or what we are not able to do. I need to break that curse. If you don't love yourself then who will??? That's what I have to constantly remind myself of. It seems that I am my own worst enemy. I know that I have many flaws like the most of us but I am putting forth an effort to find many things that I can do. It's all about positive energy/ high vibrations. I try to meditate every now and then. It's something that I should do daily. I'm being lazy. Meditation doesn't involve physical exercise but it's working your sub conscience mind. It's difficult since I mainly think with my right brain more than left. I need to learn how to use both...create a balance. Now, I am starting to ramble. I'll go into meditation on another post. Well, I want to tell you about my darling son. Here are a few random things about him.
1.He has a Muslim name given to him by his grandfather...It's his father's family tradition.
2.He loves Yo Gabba Gabba, Little Bill and Wow Wow Wubzy.
3.He hates it when I brush his teeth.
4.He doesn't have any allergies.
5.He calls me mama in a loud voice...sounds like he is singing it. LOL!
6.He loves to give kisses and hugs.
